areeso privacy policy
The short version. This page covers two things: the areeso extension and the areeso website. The extension has no server of its own and collects nothing about you. Your photos, measurements and pictures stay on your computer. Two things can leave it, each only when you choose: pressing See it on you sends your photos and the shop's product photo to OpenAI or fal, using your own key, to make the picture; and tapping an answer on the optional feedback card sends that one answer to us. The website collects an email address and first name only if you join the early-access waitlist, and nothing else about you.
The extension
The sections that follow, up to the website section, describe the extension.
What areeso keeps, and where
Everything below is stored on your computer, inside Chrome, and nowhere else:
- the photos of you that you add (up to five);
- your measurements, if you enter them (all optional);
- your try-on pictures and favourites (the Closet);
- your settings, and the OpenAI or fal key you paste in. The key is saved on your computer as you typed it, not encrypted;
- a short activity log of what the extension did, with no photos, keys or measurements in it. It is cleared when you close the browser.
What leaves your computer, and when (the extension)
- When you press "See it on you": your photos and the shop's product photo are sent to OpenAI (api.openai.com) or fal (fal.run), whichever key you added, along with an instruction to put you in the shop's photo. The picture comes back to your computer. Each service handles that data under its own terms and privacy policy; areeso does not see or store it.
- When you tap an answer on the feedback card: after a few try-ons, areeso may ask how a picture looked. Tapping an answer sends that one answer, and nothing else, to a Google Form that we read. It is sent without cookies, but like any request it reaches Google, which can see your internet address. Nothing is sent if you tap nothing. Google handles it under its own privacy policy.
- Size charts: to suggest a size, areeso asks the shop's own website for its size chart, the same way your browser does when you view the page.
- Your measurements are never sent anywhere. They are used on your computer only, to compare against the size chart.
What areeso reads on a page
To do its job, areeso reads the product name, photos and size chart of the shop page you are on, on your computer. It does not collect your browsing history, and it sends nothing about the pages you visit to areeso or anyone else, apart from what is described above.
What we do not do (the extension)
- The extension has no areeso account, server, analytics, tracking or advertising. The feedback card is optional and sends only the answer you tap.
- We do not sell, share or transfer your data to anyone.
- We do not use your extension data for anything other than making your try-ons and size suggestions.
The website and the early-access waitlist
areeso is not available yet. The areeso website has a form where you can ask to be told when it is ready. This section is about the website only; it does not change anything above about the extension.
- What we collect: the email address and first name you type into the form, and the time you joined. Nothing else is stored with them: not your internet address, browser details, referring page or cookies.
- Why: only to email you once, to say when areeso is ready. We do not use the list for anything else.
- Where it is stored: in a database on Cloudflare that Himani Shah controls. We use no other mailing-list service.
- Who can see it: Himani Shah. Cloudflare hosts the database under its own terms and privacy policy.
- Not sold or shared: we do not sell, share or transfer the list to anyone.
- How long we keep it: until areeso has launched and we have sent the "ready" message, or until you ask to be removed, whichever comes first.
- How to be removed: reply to any email from us and ask, or write to areeso.himani@gmail.com. Removal is done by hand; there is no automatic unsubscribe link.
- Joining is optional. You can use the website without joining.
What the website uses (not the extension)
These two Cloudflare services run on the website. They are not part of the extension, and the extension does not use them.
- Cloudflare Turnstile checks, when you submit the waitlist form, that the sign-up comes from a person and not an automated program. It runs in your browser and the result is checked with Cloudflare. Cloudflare handles that check under its own privacy policy.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits to the website, such as how many people looked at a page. It does not use cookies and does not build a profile of you.
Deleting your data (the extension)
For the waitlist, see "How to be removed" above. For the extension: open the You tab and press Delete all my data: this removes your photos, measurements, Closet, settings and key from your computer. You can also delete single try-ons in the Closet. Removing the extension from Chrome removes everything it stored. Pictures held by OpenAI or fal are governed by their policies; check those services if you want them removed.
Children
areeso is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes, and the new version is posted at this address.
